Sports Meet at Arab Unity School

The school held its annual Sports Meet for the Kg, Primary, senior boys’ and girls’ sections on the 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th of November, 2009 respectively.

The themes varied for the sections: the Kindergarten had ‘Clowns in Town’ , DAWN - an acronym for dream, achieve, win and nurture, the theme for the Primary , exhorting parents to help their young ones to dream and nurture them to achieve and win. The boys and girls aptly hightlighted  ‘Peace and Harmony’ focusing on  its importance in today’s world.

The highlight of the day was the mass drill performed by all sections with coordination and symmetry and culminating in the formation of the UAE flag to commemorate the 38th National Day.

Ms Smitha Harikrishna –a renowned cricketer who represented India in two World Cups was the distinguished guest of honour along with our honourable guests- the  Directors of the school.  The school campus turned into an Olympic arena with conflicting doses of excitement, confidence and nerves with budding stars of all ages vying with each other to win the coveted gold, silver or bronze medals. There was a medley of races- relays, Obstacle Race, Bobbing the Apple Race, Sack Race and many more.

The Champions Trophy was lifted by the Ahmed House in the Primary, Maktoum House in the Boys’ Section and Mohammed House in the Girls’ Section.

The March Past Trophy was won by the Mohammed House in the Primary Section, Maktoum in the Boys’ and Girls’ Section.
