1.         Parent Teacher Meeting and Report Day: 19th January 2012 for Grades FS 1 to Grade 12

2.         Time:  1.00 to 5.00 p.m.

            It will be a non instructional day for students from FS 1 to Grade 11.

            Grade 12 students will have regular classes till 11.30 a.m.

3.         Fees:   Reminder to pay the school and Transport fee of your ward immediately. The  Accounts Office

Dear Parents 

The School has taken an initiative to evolve a mechanism in order to ensure that the students follow important nutritional guidelines for proper physical, social, emotional & intellectual development. It is imperative since a recent research study shows that students with proper dietary habits excel academically and exhibits social behavior. 

A special committee has been set up to establish an effective nutritious environment in the school. It will not only monitor the food available in the school but also the snacks provided by parents to their wards. You are requested to send healthy food such as fruits, vegetables, sandwiches etc rather than chips, chocolates, biscuits & sweets. Moreover water is for preferable to sugary fizzy drinks & juices. 

Seminars & lectures will also be organized periodically so as to create an awareness of the long term benefits of healthy eating. 

All this cannot be possible without your cooperation in this matter since you as a parent have a major role in guiding and shaping your child’s eating habits. 

Together we can and we will build a healthy generation.

As discussed in the Orientation Programme, we are starting a Healthy Meal Plan for your children from next month. The idea is to provide nutritious snacks on a non profit basis. Kindly fill up the form and send Dhs. 105.00 (Dhs. One Hundred Five only) @ Dhs. 5.00 per day for 21 working days of October in the school diary or personally to the Supervisor. 

This is to comply with the Health Ministry requirements.  

The registration for the meal plan for the month of October will be done on Thursday 29th September 2011.

  LANGUAGE OPTIONS IN GRADE 4 

Dear Parents, 

Arab Unity School offers a choice of Second Languages from Grade 4 upwards. Cambridge International Examinations conduct “O” Level Examinations in these Languages at the end of Grade 10. Please choose the Second Language your ward would study in Grade 4 in the forthcoming academic session 2011-2012. 

It is advisable to opt for the child’s mother tongue as a Second Language. You are reminded that once opted, no change in the Second Language will be permitted subsequently.

As per the directions of the Ministry of Education, Students who wish to equalize their certificates with the Ministry Certificates, must pass the Unified Ministry Examination in Arabic and Islamiyat in Grade 12, to enable them to continue their higher education in the U.A.E.
